BuildTmp is an add-on component for the IT Client Manager (ITCM) from CA Technologies to completely automate the installation or re-installation of Windows 7 desktop computers.

BuildTmp is integrated over the optional CCS event console of IT client manager.

Goal:

• Automate the installation process starting from the Windows 7 base OS installation to the complete installation of additional software packages like hardware-drivers, printer-drivers, Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Office, WinZip, etc.
• Automatically generate individual lists of software packages for each client computer.
• If an existing client computer is re-installed then take the existing installation list into account and automatically use the current available version of a software package.
• Automatically follow an installation sequence using the history of installations or the sequence from predefined ITCM-template-groups.

The BuildTmp-tool is used automatically using message/actions from the CCS-event console.
